Here are the highlights of what to know:
- First and foremost THANK YOU for volunteering to be a stage mom. We could not do this without you!
- Please be at your dance row by 2:00PM
- At your row you will find a pencil box and clipboard. The box contains your stage mom ID along with pens and other things you may need. The clipboard contains a list of your dancers, a copy of this information, a program, and a show list that is marked with the song you need to start getting your dancers back stage.
- CHECK IN
- Parents will check in their dancer in the lobby from 2:00-2:30 There will be tables for their age group where they check in.
- When the dancer is checked in, the parent will receive a security card and the child will receive a lanyard. These are identical with matching security numbers. They will need to show you that security card to pick up their child. They will also have to show that card in order to get backstage at intermission to change their dancer.
- Once they have checked in they will have until 2:45pm to bring their dancer to your row.
- As they arrive at your row, please check their name off the sheet on your clipboard. Do not let them drop their child off if they do not have a lanyard on. You do not need to see the security card at this time. This is just a quick way to know if a dancer has not arrived. Have the dancer sit down in a seat.
- You are given a schedule of all the dances. Every dance is numbered. All dances for the 4-7 ages are in red. Find the dance(s) you are in charge of, you will see I have highlighted what song you need to gather your dancers up and start walking to the stage door (3 songs before their dance).
- During a “black out” you will walk the girls down the aisle and back stage. Once the dancers have been lined up correctly backstage, you can remove the lanyards and hold them until they are finished with their performance. You can sit in the designated stage mom seats (Row AA Seats 1 – 7) to watch their performance. After the performance please pick up your dancers backstage.
- Before returning to your seats please place the lanyards around the girls and quietly proceed back into the auditorium. This routine will be repeated for each performance that your dancers are in.
- Dancers who are also in a Jazz/Hip-hop class may have a costume change during the show. As soon as their dance is over, a parent should pick up that student. The parent will need to show you their Dancer security card . The parent will take them to change and then will return the dancer to the proper row in student section for their next dance. Please Compare ID and lanyard. Their dances are located on their ID lanyard.
- INTERMISSION
- Parents may come and pick up their child during intermission to either change their costume of take them to the bathroom. They will need their dancer ID card to pick up their child or enter backstage. *Only females will be allowed in the dressing rooms. Parents should return their dancer back to the student section after they have changed costumes.
- Although we have asked that dancers not be checked out until the end of the show, there may be parents who insist on getting their child early. Should this occur, please get their ID card, compare it with the Childs lanyard ID, take the card and the lanyard and sign them out on your sheet.
We understand you may also want to leave after your own dancers last performance. You may not leave unless your entire class has been taken. You may not tell parents to come get their child after their last performance. Should your entire class get picked up before the end of the show and you also want to leave, you need to check in with me (Carol Stein) and provide me with the check-out sheet, the pencil box, and all of the lanyards.
- Dismissal
- You will check Children out from your row.
- Please compare the lanyard to security ID card. Take the ID and the lanyard and check them out on your sheet.
- When all the children from your class have been “claimed”, place your stage mom lanyard in the pencil box and leave the box and clipboard at your row. Please do not leave one stage mom to take care of signing out dancers. Please look around your area to see if anyone left anything behind. If you find an item please leave it at the end of the row with the pencil box and clipboard.
- Contacting Parents
- Should an issue arise where a dancer’s parent needs to be contacted you must locate me (Carol Stein) and I will call the parent.
