Advanced Placement Classes
To be considered for enrollment in Advanced Placement Classes, dancers must first have mastery of required technique at the intermediate level. Dancers must have complete knowledge and proper execution of all foundational technique/terms as well as consistent feet/arm positions, turn-out and alignment. Technique & Skill
- Plié, tendu, dégagé, relevé (must be high), battement (must be at least eye high), arabesque, attitude (front and back), coupe', passe', jeté, pas de bourrée, chassé, grand jete' (in complete, flat split), pique turn, chaine' turns (tight and quick), perfected spotting, always leads with their toes and maintains proper form at all times, etc.
- Ability to perform double pirouettes consistently, on both their left and right, with proper alignment and control. Dancers must also be able to properly land pirouettes.
- Ability to retain and execute choreography at a faster pace
- Strong understanding of terminology
- Strength and flexibility benchmarks
- Dancers must have proper splits. They should be flat on both their left and right.
- Their arabesque must be at least 90°.
- Their battements must be at least eye high.
Audition / Evaluation
- Dancers must be evaluated to be invited into the advanced classes. *Current dancers are evaluated by their instructors at the end of the season. Formal invitations are sent out upon launching the new season's schedule.
- Teacher recommendation along with all listed requirements above are taken into consideration.

- Attendance at all required rehearsals and performances
